Privacy policy.
Pintrail keeps golf videos, editable tracers, scores, and golfer-marked shots in a local journal. This policy describes the current app’s data flows, including the services used for maps, purchases, and advertising.
Your journal and videos
Recordings, imported video copies, round details, scores, clubs, map markers, and trace settings are stored in the app’s storage on your iPhone. Video analysis and rendering happen on device. Pintrail does not upload this media or journal to a Pintrail server and currently has no cloud sync, public feed, or account registration.
The photo picker gives Pintrail the video you select; broad access to your library is not required for import. Camera and optional microphone permission allow you to record. Add-only Photos permission is requested when you choose to save an export. Sharing an exported movie sends it to the destination you choose using the system share sheet.
Location and maps
Pintrail requests foreground location permission when you choose a location action, such as marking a shot’s origin or landing. Saved locations may include accuracy and the source of the marker. An imported movie’s embedded capture coordinate may be stored with its clip. That coordinate is separate from your current position and from the ball’s landing.
Map display and course searches use Apple MapKit and connect to Apple services. Pintrail does not send your videos, GPS coordinates, round paths, or map markers to RevenueCat or the advertising service. Traced exports omit the source movie’s GPS metadata; the visible scene can still reveal people or places.
Plus purchases
Apple processes App Store purchases. RevenueCat receives an app user identifier, transaction and entitlement information, and relevant app/device information to verify Plus, maintain access, handle refunds, and restore purchases. Pintrail does not receive your payment card details. Apple and RevenueCat may retain purchase records as described in their policies.
Development builds can use RevenueCat Test Store. These builds label test purchases as charging no real money. A development Test Store entitlement does not unlock an App Store purchase.
Advertising and your choices
The free app supports occasional Google AdMob interstitials at a break after completed edits. Pintrail requests non-personalized ads, disables publisher first-party personalization, and does not request access to the advertising identifier (IDFA). Non-personalized advertising still involves data processing: Google may receive an IP address (which can indicate approximate location), device or app identifiers, ad interactions, app information, and diagnostics for delivery, security, measurement, and fraud prevention.
Google’s User Messaging Platform obtains regional privacy choices when required. When a privacy-options entry point is required, open Profile & settings → Advertising privacy choices to review or change them. Pintrail checks consent availability before requesting an ad. Active Plus access suppresses new ad requests and ad display. Data already processed by a provider is governed by that provider’s retention policy. Ad delivery remains subject to service availability and approval; development builds use test ad units.
Deletion, backups, and control
Deleting a clip from the journal removes its app-owned video copy and saved clip record. It does not delete your original in Photos or a movie saved or shared elsewhere. You can correct scores and remove mapped shots in the app. Uninstalling removes the local app journal. Device backups managed by you and Apple may contain app data depending on your settings; Pintrail does not operate those backups. There is no Pintrail cloud account to delete.
You can change camera, microphone, Photos, and location permissions in iOS Settings. For purchase assistance, use Restore purchases in Plus or Apple’s purchase support. To ask about data processed by Pintrail’s service providers, contact us and consult their controls and privacy policies.
Children and contact
Pintrail is a general golf tool and is not designed specifically for children. We do not ask for a child’s name, age, or profile. If you believe personal information was sent to us inappropriately, contact [email protected].

Service providers and updates
This page may change as Pintrail’s functionality changes. We will update its effective date and explain material changes in the app or on this page. This website does not add an advertising or analytics script; the hosting provider may process ordinary web requests.
